A plea for unity
War, regardless of its origins or those who perpetrate it, remains a grievous affliction. Innocent lives are sacrificed, and this must cease. The moment I associate a specific country or religion with this statement, I risk being labeled as an advocate for a particular faith or nation. Yet, in my humble opinion, every life holds equal value, regardless of its origins or beliefs.
Our planet offers ample space for all of us to live harmoniously side by side. Our task is to convey to individuals that they must keep their faith and beliefs personal. In a society shared by many, it becomes necessary to make sacrifices for the common good. Maintaining social cohesion transcends the significance of personal convictions and ideological propaganda.
Those who manipulate and divide us through propaganda seek only to enrich themselves. Let us not permit further divisions among ourselves. All the inhabitants of our planet should unite as one, for recent events, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, remind us that afflictions affect all indiscriminately. Nature consistently reveals that it treats all inhabitants the same, and the vast universe underscores our insignificance in its grandeur.
Let us comprehend our place and the limited time we have on this planet and act accordingly. The generations that have lived through past wars do not fill us with pride. History has repeatedly underscored that times of peace lead to greater prosperity and enable everyone to thrive.
Let us end all wars and work towards a unified global community and lasting peace. Life is too short to be marred by conflict.
